Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong has released a new solo track. The frontman sings on the song "Mechanical Man" which features on the animated puppet movie produced by Rancid's Tim Armstrong - "Live Freaky Die Freaky".

The track has already been posted on Green Day fansites for download, reports NME.com.

"Live Freaky Die Freaky" features Armstrong as the voice of Charles Manson, as well as contributions from fellow bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, Travis Barker, Davey Havok and Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden.

In other news, Green Day will be honored in their native Bay Area by the San Francisco chapter of the Recording Academy. The award goes to "outstanding individuals whose work embodies excellence and integrity and who have improved the environment for the creative community." The organization's 2006 gala event will honor the Punk trio for their recent success in the wake of 2004's American Idiot.

Along with Green Day, others being honored this year include jazz musicians Dave Brubeck and George Duke and the San Francisco Blues Festival.

Green Day, Brubeck and Duke will be presented with the Recording Academy Honors Award on March 19th, during a gala held at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco's Union Square.

не....КиШ мрачный - миня он не очень нравится но хотя пару песен есть нормальные....ИМХО
