Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo's project head, spoke to German publication derStandard (courtesy of MCV), where he alluded to a possible PC iteration of the popular racing franchise, "It is very very unlikely that GT will come out on another console. Yamauchi believes releasing Gran Turismo on the PC will help promote and distribute the game in the Chinese market, a market he seems eager to capture. This notion is interesting as the Chinese market is known for its rampant piracy.

Since releasing in 1997 The Gran Turismo series has featured hundreds of licensed cars and is currently undergoing its 5th iteration, set to release in 2009 on the PlayStation 3. Will the most popular racing simulator of all time head over to the PC? Time will tell.
