"Green Day Early Records To Be Reissued"

Green Day's pre-fame albums "1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour" from 1991 and 1992's "Kerplunked" will be reissued by Warner next month. The two albums were originally issued independently on Berkley label Lookout! Records, reports PunkBands.

The 2007 versions will be remastered and expanded. "1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour" was a compilation of the first three Green Day EP's "39/Smooth", "Slappy" and "1,000 Hours".

"Kerplunk" was the band's first full length album and featured an early version of their latter hit "Welcome To Paradise".

In its day, "Kerplunk" sold more than 50,000 units, a massive effort for an indie band and label. After the success of their first major album "Dookie", "Kerplunk" sales accelerated and to date has now sold more than 2 million copies.

Warner label Reprise Records will release the new versions of the albums on January 9, 2007.

"The Killers Offended By Green Day"

The Killers' Brandon Flowers has criticised Green Day for what he sees as their calculated anti-Americanism, according to NME.com.

In particular, Flowers singled out the track "American Idiot" and the fact they filmed their DVD "Bullet In A Bible", which features the song, in the UK.

"You have Green Day and 'American Idiot'. Where do they film their DVD? In England," the frontman told The Word. "A bunch of kids screaming 'I don't want to be an American idiot' I saw it as a very negative thing towards Americans. It really lit a fire in me."

Explaining he was offended by the set-up, Flowers added: "You have the right to say what you want to say and what you want to write about, and I'm sure they meant it in the same way that Bruce Springsteen meant 'Born In The USA' and it was taken wrongly, but I was really offended when I saw them do that."

The singer added he felt the DVD was a bit of a a stunt. "I just thought it was really cheap," he explained. "To go to a place like England or Germany and sing that song - those kids aren't taking it the same way that he meant it. And he [Billie Joe Armstrong] knew it."

The Killers' frontman said he believed that his band's new album "Sam's Town" is a much better representation of America.

"People need to see that, really, there are the nicest people in the world here!" he declared. "I don't know if our album makes you realise that. But I hope it's from a more positive place."

Такого нима подстиля... Я так понимаю... Ведь я делил не по национальнастям, а по тому, ЧТО они играют и поют... Единственное, я чёт завтыкал Бритпанк в опрос втулить, это, насколько я понимаю, Франц Фердинанд и ещё пару известных групп...

ну все-таки укр панк відрізняється від російського і каліфорнійського,може його не виділяють,але він є,як на мене

Есси чесно, я делил панк на Калифорняк, Брит и всё остальное...

Так что...
Например тот же Тартак играет что-то похожее, но не будежь же под него вводить жанр "тартапанк"? Я описал самые яркие, широкие движения...
